I’m Marina — (you guessed it) the one-woman show behind Marina Bourquin.co.

Born on Maui, Hawai‘i and raised on the Sunshine Coast of Australia (yep, I earned my Aussie citizenship, so I guess I’m officially allowed to say g’day), I’ve lived a life shaped by sunshine, story, and culture — and that shows up in every brand I build.

Let’s break the ice — here’s a little of what fills my time when I’m not clicking away behind the screen: I’m a matcha enthusiast, recovering Facebook Marketplace addict, passionate (yet mediocre) climber, and mom to Loki (dog) and Dominic (human baby).

My Process

Let's take a little of the mystery out of the process. Allow me to explain; my process and a little of what you can expect working together!

01. RESEARCH

First things first, I’ll have you fill out a questionnaire for your project. This will help me gather information about your business, goals, competitors, and audience. From there, I will conduct my own research into your competitive market to inform our next phase: Strategy.

02. STRATEGY

Good design should always meet a goal, right? I believe a successful brand, website, or design — whatever it may be — needs to be underpinned by strategy first. That’s why I begin our journey there. Together, we’ll craft designs driven by strategy that speak to your unique goals and values, and set you apart in a way that truly engages your audience.

03. VISUAL DIRECTION

I’m not about shooting in the dark. It’s important that the visual direction for your brand or project feels like you. So before any designs begin, we’ll focus on creating visual direction concepts and mood boards that are not only aligned with your strategy but also crafted to represent you authentically.

04. DESIGN

Next, with our strategy in place and a refined visual direction to guide me, I’ll get to work designing your vision and present you with initial designs from which we will refine.

05. REVISIONS

I aim to knock it out of the park on the first go, but chances are there will be some tweaks, refinements, and revisits as your designs take shape. After the initial designs are presented, you will have an opportunity to request any changes or revisions before launch, and your files will be made ready for delivery.

06. LAUNCH

Finally, revisions are made and you’re over the moon with the results — it’s time to launch! You will receive your deliverables packaged in your desired formats and ready to use. Additionally, I’ll provide support and guides to ensure you’re equipped to implement your designs successfully.
